Overview

Sources are used on the engage platform to collect and ingest data to the platform. You generally need at least one source to get the most out of engage. If you intend to use product specific analysis and models, such as personalized product recommendations you may need more than one active source.

Sources for Realtime Data

Collect events and actions as they occur with our realtime tracker sources. These sources are often our most advanced solutions to track and collect data since they are developed for a specific purpose. You can collect more or less any data using these sources but you cant get hold of historic data this way.

The following sources are available for realtime data collection.

  • The Javascript tracker - The core source for the engage platform.

  • The Prestashop Plugin - This source includes a basic setup of the Javascript tracker.

  • The Shopify Plugin - This source includes a basic setup of the Javascript tracker.

  • The Woocommerce Plugin - This source includes a basic setup of the Javascript tracker.

Sources for Historic Data

Machine learning algorithms require a decent volume of data to perform well. The required data can be collected using realtime sources like the Javascript tracker, but it takes some time to collect enough data this way. Hence, we provide sources to ingest historical data and master data into the platform to shorten the lead times to start using personalization and advanced analytics.

The following sources are available for historical data collection.

  • The CSV File Upload source - Upload product data and order data in a structured csv format

  • The Prestashop Plugin - This source ingest order and product data for you.
